Who we are
Our yoga retreats are led by Megan Mirka, a 200-hour certified yoga teacher who has been practicing yoga for more than 12 years and has been teaching yoga since 2020. Megan has taught hundreds of classes in a variety of formats and always aims to provide a space that is comforting, yet challenging for all.
After years of a high-pressure and stressful career as a civil litigator, Megan has become uniquely skilled at using yoga to calm the mind, release tension, and restore inner energy and motivation. She is passionate about helping others discover the benefits of yoga and teaches students how to incorporate simple practices that can make a world of a difference for releasing stress.
As an avid traveler and wildlife enthusiast, Megan crafts each retreat to embody the perfect combination of adventure, joy, and peace for every type of traveler. Outside of our retreats, you can find Megan leading yoga classes for students at a variety of studios and spaces in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. Message us for details on her current teaching schedule if you would like to join a class with her locally.
What to Expect On Retreat Q&A:
Question: What type of yoga will we practice while on retreat?
Answer: Our retreats include a mix between vinyasa flow classes, deep stretching and relaxing classes, and yoga nidra sessions that will be offered throughout the week. We aim to provide yoga classes that beginners and more seasoned yogis can all enjoy.
We will also provide daily mediations sessions which require no movement whatsoever and focus on the non-physical aspects of yoga.
Question: How much free time will we have on retreat?
Answer: As much as you want! Our daily schedule will be aimed to provide all retreaters with several hours per day of “free time” where no yoga activities are scheduled and retreaters can enjoy exploring the surrounding areas. However, everything on the schedule is completely voluntary. Meaning that if you want to opt out of a yoga session to have more time to attend a full-day excursion or just sit back and relax, you can!
Question: Is attendance at the mediation and yoga sessions during the retreat mandatory?
Answer: Everything on the retreat is entirely voluntarily. While we will offer yoga classes and meditation sessions daily, our retreaters can join in or opt out at their pleasure. This is your retreat and we want you to decide what best suits your experience!
